Eridor Smooth Collies came about when I decided I needed a change after having collie roughs for years. I approached Naomi and Rick of Seaview Kennels and luck would have it they had a litter on the ground. I placed my order for a show quality bitch, the next 8 weeks seemed to take forever. Finally the phone call I had been waiting for arrived Chelsea could come and be the foundation of Eridor Smooths.

Chelsea is a stunning tri bitch with a beautiful expression and the most devine of natures. She proved her worth in April 2005 when she whelped 10 stunning babies, to the lovely Ch Newarp Midnight Odyssey (imp UK)owned by Shirley and Joanne Stoney of Milbalind Smooths. From Chelsea's first litter we retained a tri dog and tri bitch, sadly the show ring wasnt for them but their blue sister came home and has taken the ring by storm,

CH Eridor Sway Me Smooth (a blue merle bitch) (Sway) has come home to Eridor and will be campaigned along side her sister, Jemma who now lives with Shirley and Joanne of Milbalind Kennels in Sydney. Sway has done incredibly well in the ring and is the easiest dog to live with all be it a little rat bag at times.

Shirley and Joanne also had the sole blue dog from the litter Eridor Im Mr Blue (Luke), Luke took the ring by storm with several baby of breed wins and a baby in group all breeds. Luke has migrated to the UK to live with his fathers breeder Mrs Pat Lister, we wish Pat and Luke the best of luck. Luke hit the UK show scene with a bang, taking many BOB's and several BEST IN SHOWS and RUNNER UP BEST IN SHOWS. Way to go Luke. Luke in his time in the UK so far has taken 13 CC's, sired a litter and keeps his spot warm in the BIS or Reserve in show spots.

The second generation of Eridor is also doing very well in the ring in SA with Eridor The Empress handled by Naomi Jeffery wowing the judges, Mayha has had several challenges, class in groups and a Baby in show specialty win.

Eridor Wheres The Rum has been having a holiday from the ring due to injury but he will return soon and we hope for great things from our sound, solid tri boy.

Eridor Smooths have dogs in homes doing obedience, agility, showing and one special girl down south doing herding, beauty and brains the smooth collie has it all. Recently Eridor China Roses passed her herding title and pre tracking certificate, we at Eridor wish to congratulate Rosie and her owner on this wonderful achievement.

The future looks a bright one for Eridor.
